Department of Primary Industry Fisheries s37 permit

Department of Primary Industry Fisheries s37 permit

I am pleased to announce that after close to 12 months, I have received what I believe to be, the only permit given out by NSW Government Department of Primary Industries to me, allowing me to prepare and possess a number of protected and threatened shark species, for the purpose of restoration or preparation for display or education. It is an s37 permit, however specific to sharks and my work with them.
Essentially this permit was written from scratch, hence the time frame involved. A huge amount of work has gone into this permit, and I would like to thank NSW Fisheries for getting it over the line. In particular I would like to thank Marcel Green, Dr. Vic Peddemors, Dr. Amy Smoothey, Kim Wolfenden, Simone Winchester, Emma Mudford and in particular Heleena Bamford, Acting Senior Fisheries Manager for Threatened Species, who over the past 2 months kept me constantly updated with the status of the permit, and who would be asking questions on my behalf.
It has been a long 12 months, however I now hold a permit that will allow me to work with such species, ensuring that any restoration or preparation is done within the legal boundaries of the department and its corresponding governing bodies.
